Taiping houkui tea is grown at the foot of Huangshan in the former Taiping Prefecture, Anhui. The tea has been produced since the beginning of the 20th century .The best Tai Ping Hou Kui is grown in the villages of Houkeng, Teas produced in the surrounding areas are called by the same name.The fresh tea leaves can be 15 cm, the large-leaf variety found only in Anhui province.
The tea leaves are fully hand-crafted, huge and flat tea with brilliant green, The shape is like the tip of a spear and part of the stems are reddish in color. Even if over-steeped or too many leaves are used in its infusion, Tai Ping Hou Kui will never bitter.
Tai Ping Hou Kui has the longest tea leaves among all the other tea types which makes it a enjoyable sight when steep using the glasses. Soft and rich texture with a sweet nose reminiscent of banana, and vegetal notes of zucchini, corn and peas. Dry finish. Extravagant yet delicate. A wonderful experience to taste !
